Even as the Poet lies dying, â€Å"no mortal pain or fear marred his repose,† and the Poet enters a state of calm and tranquility, envisioning the heaven he will escape to (639-640).Alastor’s solitary Poet, although taking in bloodless food, wasted away through the inadequate consumption of his natural world, as he was fatally misled by a dysfunctional sense of hunger. Being unlike ordinary men (visionary artists are far and few between), it seems natural that he is pushed to isolation at the outset of the poem. Social inclusion tends to have a grounding effect on an individual, for civilization is a rational force. But since the Poet lives in solitude, he is more likely to follow the extreme, imaginative pursuits originating from a passion for his art; he lives without the vo ice of others to dissuade him from pursuing â€Å"Nature’s most secret steps.† In this context, insatiable hunger for such an ideal human form seems fitting punishment for the man unwilling to seek out society. But was supernatural enlightenment and the consequent lifelong misery chasing after unattainable forms effective punishment for an ego stemming perhaps from loneliness? If the Poet is able to die in peace, is a life of lonely misery and aimless wandering not a life well-lived? And did the Poet not achieve the highest possible form of mortal art? Because while Shelley titled the poem, â€Å"Alastor† (Greek for â€Å"avenging demons† or â€Å"evil genius,†) to describe the ills of living in solitude, it seems the Poet, while alone, achieves a truly noble task- dying without regret, pain or fear (Bean, 60). I will never forget the pain in my gut when I opened the door to find my nine-year-old sister watching a porno. "I found it in Billy's room and wanted to see what it was, I'm sorry Jes." As I watched tears role down her face, a feeling of rage exploded within me. It was then that I realized that pornography is not only being watched by adults, but being explored by our youth as well. What has our society come to, and what role does pornography play in it? It's definitely not the positive outlet. I believe pornography can be dangerous because it dehumanizes family values, and leads to vicious acts of violence. 1. Family Values The stone first strikes at the very heart of family values. It presents behavior that is immoral and sinful as acceptable. Pornography makes premarital sex, adultery, and a variety of other perversions not only permissible, but attractive. It encourages both male and female homosexuality, which are lifestyles that are not acceptable to many people. It is not only those who come into direct contact with pornography that are affected. The ripples spread, and with them the effects of smut on the community as a whole. The Pontifical Council's report cited strong evidence that obscene materials "corrode human relationships, exploit individuals (especially women and young people), undermine marriage and family life, foster anti-social behavior and weaken the moral fiber of society itself." Even nonviolent pornography is harmful according to a study by Dr. Dolf Zillman and Dr. Jennings Bryant. After weeks of exposure to soft-core material, those who participated in the experiment said they felt "less satisfied with their partner's sexual performance, affection and physical appearance." The climax of the story is not of his death, but rather the metamorphosis of his human suffering. This change connects with Friedrich Nietzsche theory of pain. In pain there is as much wisdom as in pleasure: like the latter it is one of the best self preservatives of a species. His theories of suffering, hardships, and pain allow us to understand the goodness of pain. The metamorphosis of Andrew Miller broaden our views in the importance of pain and teach readers important themes essential for growth in life. Dyers metamorphosis of feeling is prevalent as the novel progresses: From no emotion to insanity; from insanity to compassion. In the beginning James Dyers life, he is born in Blind Yeo, an English village. He makes no sound when he is born because he a born without the feeling of pain. He is perceived quite unusual to his family, siblings, and peers from school. He does not talk until he is 11 years old, he has unusual blue eyes in the family, and he does not display any form of emotion. Because of this he lacks empathy, the essence of all human qualities. He theorized, †But what if pleasure and pain should be so closely connected that he who wants the greatest possible amount of the one must also have the greatest possible amount of the other, that he who wants to experience the heavenly high jubilation, must also be ready to be sorrowful unto death? As the German philosopher suggests, James Dyers inability to feel any form of pain disallows him to attain any form of pleasure. For instance, Andrew Miller demonstrate Dyers inability to experience pleasure. Dyer has sex with the Collin twins, but feels nothing. To achieve pain is to achieve pleasure. One can easily relate to the torture of schooling; overcoming great pain brings great pleasure of success. Needless to say, James Dyer becomes captivated by books of anatomy, books of maps, books of experiments . . . books of astronomy, geometry and later becomes a successful surgeon (Miller 120). This is not an issue of success, but of pleasure. Although there may be positive aspects of his inability to feel pain, his metamorphosis eventually counter-weigh it. As James Dyer changes throughout the novel, it portrays the essentiality of pain. The man who is guided by concepts and abstractions only succeeds by such means in warding off misfortune, without ever gaining any happiness for himself from these abstractions. And while he aims for the greatest possible freedom from pain, the intuitive man, standing in the midst of a culture, already reaps from his intuition a harvest of continually inflowing illumination, cheer, and redemption - in addition to obtaining a defense against misfortune. To be sure, he suffers more intensely, when he suffers; he even suffers more frequently, since he does not understand how to learn from experience and keeps falling over and over again into the same ditch. -Friedrich Nietzsche Later in the book we learn that James Dyer starts to become human. In part 6, we see the beginning of Dyers experience to the world of pain. Julius Lestrade sees the start of this change when Mary reaches into Dyers chest. In Lestrades view, There is no blood; the flesh parts like water, like sand (Miller 123). He does not want to help Dyer because he feels an unusual force preventing him from going in. Dyer feels like he is on fire from inside and out. He starts to become insane. Later Mr. Swallow sends Dyer to a lunatic asylum in England, where his pain continues to increase. Dyer begins to feel the old injuries of his leg and hands and remembers the loss of Mary. Augustus Rose arrives to help the inmates through art. He castes them into a William Shakespeare A Midsummer Nights Dream. Dyer falls in love with Dot Flyer during the play and has sex with her. He experiences pleasure for the first time. Dot dies of a seizure and Dyer, again, grieves for someone who he truly loves. As he is dismissed from the asylum, he senses that Mary is waiting for him. Friedrich Nietsche connects with Dyers pain by emphasizing the importance of suffering. He states, The discipline of suffering, of great suffering do you not know that it is this discipline alone that has produced all the elevations of humanity so far? Although pain and suffering is cruel, it is essential to produce humanity. For without pain there is no humanity. As Dyer becomes capable of feeling pain, he also gains the capability to love. Dyers conversion to love and suffering is the climax of Ingenious Pain. He stays in Lestrades house to practice the concern for others and art. His change from an automaton surgeon to a compassionate feeling for art leaves his life fulfilled. As Mary saved Dyers heart by reaching into his chest, Dyer cuts into John Amazement and saves his heart. His skill as a surgeon and feelings for another coincide; the target to which the arrow of his life has been flighted (329). He was one of the smartest men I have ever known and although his job may not have appeared to be of any great importance, he proved that he could acc... ... from experience and the teacher is only a guide or a supervisor of their learning. I prefer progressivism over any other philosophy because education should be geared more towards the needs and interests of the students. My overall teaching philosophy is to be a good role model for the students, to teach them that everybody is unique, and that they are all of equal importance. Teaching may not be the best paying profession, but I feel that if do my best, I can achieve great things. It does not matter how much the salary will be. What matters the most is that teaching can be an everyday adventure and it is extremely rewarding to know that you have made such an impact on someone else. As an educator, I hope to not only prepare students to move on to the next level, but to teach them values and principles that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Meteorologists are very involved in the world today. You might see them on T.V or hear their voice on the radio. Wherever they are they help you in many ways. The word â€Å"meteorology† refers to the Greek word meteoron. Meteoron refers to an astronomical phenomenon. The science of meteorology was eventually referred to the study of the atmosphere. Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere. Meteorologists, also known as atmospheric scientists, study the atmosphere’s physical characteristics, motions, processes, and the way it effects the rest of our environment. High school students interested in meteorology should take as many classes as possible in mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanical drawing, and physical science. A bachelor’s degree in meteorology is the minimum job requirement. A master’s degree is necessary for most positions and a Ph.D. is required for most research positions. Most colleges and universities have meteorological programs. You must be good at reading comprehension, critical thinking, active learning, writing, and mathematics. Meteorology includes instruction in atmospheric chemistry, physics, weather dynamics, climatology and climate change, weather simulation, forecasting, climate modeling, mathematical theory, and the studies of clouds. After four or more years of sweating through exams, and slaving into the wee hours of the morning to complete term papers it’s time for your next challenge- getting a job. One of the best places to start is by asking questions to recent graduates who have found jobs. After asking questions you should attend seminars and workshops that your school may have on resume writing and interviewing. The federal government employs more than four-tenths of all meteorologists, therefore they are the largest employer. The second largest employer is the National Weather Service and the third is the Department of Defense and Armed Forces. Others work for stations and companies. Financially, meteorologists have a good outlook. Meteorologists who work for  the National government with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology make around $19,500 to $24,200 a year. A master’s degree earns about $24,200 to $29,600 a year and a Ph.D. earns about $35,800 to $42,900. Most experienced meteorologists make around $46,000 a year. Meteorologists work very hard to be what they are. They go through many years of college and hard work. Meteorologists are also very involved with the world today. Without them we would not know if it would rain or be sunny today.
